Project Summary: Design of the first Department of Health Equality, Diversity and Human Rights strategy.
Business Issue: The Department of Health needed expert strategic insight and research support to craft a ground-breaking new business case and strategy for diversity and equality in the National Health Service and Social Care sector.
PTI Action: PTI wrote the business case for Diversity that has been the foundation of the Department of Health’s Diversity, Equality and Human Rights strategy across the entire UK health sector since 2005. We then worked to identify the many strategic levers at play within the NHS and Social Care and analysed how each lever impacts on both the workforce and service delivery aspects of Diversity and Equality.
Business Result: Our work with the Department has led us to work closely with a number of strategic health authorities to identify best practice and gauge the potential impact of possible solutions to strategic Diversity issues. This work has consequently informed many EDHR strategies across numerous Trusts and other NHS organisations in the past 4 years.
